Job summary

Save the Children is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate education for infants and toddlers. Two teachers per classroom work together with aides and volunteers to support learning and family engagement.

You will ensure safety, compliance with regulations, and strong partnerships with families while reporting to the Center Director or Manager of Education & Inclusion. English proficiency and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a CDA or an associate degree in child development, early childhood education or related field with coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education, and experience teaching preschool-age children.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans for infants and toddlers to promote social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
• Lead classroom activities with a co-Teacher, under supervision from Center Director or Education & Inclusion Manager.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families and engage with families through conferences and home visits.
• Keep the classroom safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate; use playgrounds as learning spaces and support nutrition and health practices.
