Qualifications

• Strong understanding of early childhood development.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of Head Start program performance standards preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and getting up from the floor.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets Head Start standards.
• Foster a classroom environment that supports children's growth in all areas of development.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of each child’s development and maintain accurate records.
• Build positive respectful relations with children and their families.
• Implement strategies for classroom management and individual behavior support.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, family service staff, and other professionals to meet the needs of children and their families.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and home visits as required.
• Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
