Job summary

SMOC in Whitinsville, MA is seeking a dedicated Teacher for Head Start in a full-time role. The position emphasizes planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences, promoting a safe and nurturing classroom environment, and engaging families to strengthen community ties.

Responsibilities include following Head Start and EEC standards, collaborating with staff, observing child development, and maintaining accurate records. CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• EEC PS Teacher certificate required.
• Degree in ECE or related field preferred.
• Must be able to communicate with diverse backgrounds.
• CPR & First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable and follow SMOC Head Start philosophy and regulations.
• Run and facilitate classroom and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintain compliant, safe and positive classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with teacher, lead teacher, and supervisor.
• Observe and assess children's development and plan accordingly.
• Maintain space, equipment and supplies in a safe, healthy manner.
