Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) in Mattapan seeks a Teacher for Head Start (52 weeks) to join a multi‑disciplinary teaching team. The role emphasizes education component objectives and developmentally appropriate activities in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required for Teacher I; Bachelor’s for Teacher II; Master’s for Teacher III.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database systems.
• Bilingual ability preferred where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide a joyful, nurturing preschool environment fostering social, cognitive, and physical development.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Document observations and maintain records of children’s progress and parent communications.
• Support and mentor Teacher Assistants and classroom volunteers.
• Maintain EEC requirements including staff-to-child ratios and classroom supervision.
