Job summary

South Middlesex Opportunity Council, Inc. in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Lead Teacher for Head Start. You will create a nurturing classroom, plan developmentally appropriate activities, and support children’s readiness across social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language domains.

The role requires EEC Lead PS Teacher certification and a degree in ECE or related field. CPR/First Aid certification is required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• EEC Lead PS Teacher certificate required.
• Degree in ECE or related field preferred.
• Must be comfortable communicating with children, families and co-workers.
• Bilingual skills a plus.
• CPR & First Aid certification expected within licensing time frame.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable and follow SMOC Head Start philosophy and regulations.
• Runs and facilitates the classroom to support child development.
• Maintain a positive environment and compliance within the classroom.
• Communicate regularly with Supervisor and staff; document relevant information.
• Observe, assess, and plan for individual and group needs.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and supplies; attend meetings and trainings.
