Job summary

Metropolitan Action Commission currently seeks a Head Start Teacher 2 to join our team. This full-time role works under the Head Start Center Manager with oversight from the Assistant Center Manager to deliver quality early education.

You will plan and implement daily lesson plans, support family engagement, supervise children, and maintain confidential records while coordinating with volunteers and staff to foster a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Valid Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.
• Plan, document, and implement daily lesson plans and special activities.
• Attend staff meetings, training and other related meetings as requested.
• Responsible for all consultation(s) with parents.
• Maintain current records, perform tasks associated with the education component, and assure confidentiality.
• Maintain proper supervision of children at all times indoors and outdoors.
• Document and implement integration of component events in the classroom (i.e., handwashing, toileting, tooth brushing, preparing children for health services and community visits).
• Report any children concerns to the (assigned) Parent, Family, Community, and Engagement Advocate.
• Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the immediate supervisor.
• Insure daily implementation of the family style food service.
• Support and assist volunteers serving in the education program.
• Assume other task-related duties as requested.
