Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Head Start Teacher I for The Lourie Center Head Start. The role focuses on creating a safe learning environment, delivering developmentally appropriate instruction, and supporting children’s emotional and behavioral development.

You will analyze ongoing observation data to tailor curriculum, collaborate with families, and maintain accurate records for transitions and compliance.

Qualifications

• Create and establish a safe, healthy learning environment that provides physical and emotional safety.
• Provide emotional support through establishing a positive climate, being aware of and responsive to children, and encouraging child expression and autonomy.
• Analyze assessment data derived from ongoing observations to guide curriculum, transition, and individual/group plan decisions.
• Implement the assigned curriculum using a variety of modalities and materials to provide developmentally appropriate instructional support.
• Maintain accurate written records, including assessments, documentation, and transition paperwork; comply with deadlines set by supervisor.
• Use strategies for behavior management, such as clear behavior expectations and proactive redirection of misbehavior.
• Attend trainings and engage in coaching, reflect supervision, and PDP development for professional growth.
