The Y of Central Maryland is seeking a Head Start Teacher for a classroom serving 3- to 4-year-olds in Towson. You will co-teach with another teacher to support 17–20 children, following the curriculum and collaborating with family advocates and families to meet outcomes for all abilities.

You will plan daily lessons, set individual goals, address challenging behaviors with preventive strategies, and document progress through observations to tailor instruction.

Qualifications

• Must possess Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) and/or Bachelor's Degree in Education.
• Must obtain a criminal background check.
• Basic computer literacy: email, word processing and internet navigation.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and deliver daily lesson plans, posting them for parents and visitors.
• Develop individual plans for each child with goals and activities.
• Address challenging behaviors by observing causes and working with families.
• Implement a child-centered curriculum and learning environment for all abilities.
• Use observations to document progress and tailor curriculum.
