Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Teacher for a Head Start classroom serving 3 to 4-year-old children. The teacher will collaborate with another Teacher to support 17–20 children, implementing the curriculum to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities and utilizing knowledge of child growth and development.

Qualifications

• Must have 90 Hour Child Care Certification if degree is in other education.
• Must obtain a criminal background check.
• Basic computer literacy including email, word processing and internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Y associate meetings, training sessions and workshops.
• Maintain confidentiality of associates and family information.
• Fulfill role as mandated reporter for Child Abuse and Neglect.
• Ensure consistent service by being present and a contributing team member.
• Uphold Y mission, core values and policies in daily duties.
• Adhere to personnel policies including confidentiality and safety.
