Job summary

The Y of Central Maryland is seeking a dedicated Teacher for a Head Start classroom serving children aged 3 to 4. You will collaborate with another teacher to run a classroom of 17–20 children, using evidence-based practices to support all abilities.

You will coordinate with family advocates and staff to implement the curriculum and achieve developmental outcomes. You will plan daily lessons, set individual goals for each child, address challenging behaviors, and document progress while

Qualifications

• Must possess CDA and/or Bachelor's Degree in Education.
• Must obtain a criminal background check.
• Basic computer literacy: email, word processing and internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans; post for parents and volunteers.
• Develop individual plans for each child with goals and activities.
• Address challenging behaviors; partner with families to support child at home.
• Implement a child-centered curriculum and environment that promotes positive social interaction.
• Document progress using observations and notes to tailor curriculum.
• Attend associate meetings, trainings, and work collaboratively with the team.
