Job summary

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) Head Start and Children’s Services in Dorchester Head Start is seeking a Teacher Assistant for a 46-week position. You will assist the Teacher with the care and education of preschool children and help implement Education Component objectives.

Responsibilities include promoting the program’s mission to staff, families, and the community, maintaining compliance with federal/state policies, and supporting documentation, planning, and parent engagement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Preschool CDA Credential or equivalent.
• ECE Certificate or Lead Teacher certification preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing Education Component objectives.
• Promote the Head Start mission to staff, families and community.
• Maintain safety and comply with laws and policies.
• Provide classroom coverage and support in daily duties.
• Participate in home visits and parent/teacher conferences.
