Job summary

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) Head Start/Children’s Services is seeking a qualified Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our Dorchester Early Head Start team. The position involves planning and implementing education components, promoting the program mission, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The role requires experience in infant/toddler education, clean background, and ability to work with diverse families.

Qualifications

• Requires Child Development Associate Credential with Infant/Toddler endorsement or EEC Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher certification.
• Bilingual ability preferred to serve diverse ABCD families.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office) for data and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide infants and toddlers with a nurturing, safe learning environment that supports social, cognitive and physical development.
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities in line with Head Start performance standards.
• Conduct home visits and parent conferences to engage families in education.
• Maintain documentation of observations, assessments, and IFSP goals for children with special needs.
• Collaborate with teaching team and staff to support program goals and confidentiality.
