Job summary

ABCD Head Start and Children's Services in Boston, MA is seeking a Teacher I–III to provide care and education for preschoolers as part of a teaching team. The Teacher plans and implements the Education Component objectives of the Performance Standards.

This position requires levels of education from Associate to Master’s in early childhood education, with bilingual abilities preferred. Candidates engage families, document progress, and ensure compliance with regulations while supporting staff

Qualifications

• Associates degree in early childhood education required; EEC Preschool Teacher certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education required; EEC Preschool Teacher certification preferred.
• Master's degree in early childhood education required; bilingual in a language spoken by families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally appropriate learning activities and support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Maintain daily observations, records, and communications with families.
• Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and IEPs as needed.
• Mentor and supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers.
• Engage families to strengthen understanding of child development and active involvement.
• Ensure staff-to-child ratios and classroom supervision meet regulatory requirements.
