Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Head Start Teacher (Substitute) to provide an engaging, age-appropriate learning environment for children 0–5 in on-site settings across Los Angeles.

The role involves implementing curriculum for double sessions, coordinating with the Co-Teacher and Family Advocate, and integrating health, nutrition, and family involvement into daily learning while emphasizing social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• 12 hours of ECE/ Child development units and ability to obtain Associate Teacher Permit.
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a classroom environment with varied activities to support social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
• Plan and implement curriculum for morning and afternoon classes, coordinating with Co-Teacher and Family Advocate.
• Integrate Head Start services (parent involvement, nutrition, health, mental health) into learning.
