Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Head Start Teacher to provide an engaging educational environment for children aged 0–5, supporting social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. You will collaborate with a Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to guide families and coordinate activities across Head Start sites in the Los Angeles area.

The qualified candidate will have an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, 24 ECE units, and the ability to obtain a Child Development

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
• 24 ECE/Child Development units required.
• Must meet requirements to obtain Child Development Teacher Permit.

Responsibilities

• Implements the Head Start program curriculum and plan activities for morning and afternoon classes.
• Provide an environment that supports social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
• Observes and assesses children’s development and maintains records; collaborates with Family Advocate.
• Engages parents as partners in the child’s learning and development.
• Other duties as assigned and may change.
