Job summary

Save the Children seeks Program Aides to provide educational, relational and social experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. You will report to the Education and Inclusion Manager or Center Director and may travel to program sites or conduct home visits.

You will assist with classroom activities, daily operations, and family engagement while upholding safety and Head Start standards. A high school diploma and English proficiency are required, with CPR/first aid within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as applicable by Head Start or childcare regulations.
• Within 90 days, obtain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.
• Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational, relational and social experiences for infants, toddlers and/or preschool-aged children.
• Assist classroom staff and teachers in all activities; support family nights and communications.
• Perform janitorial duties and kitchen/dining tasks as needed while complying with hygiene standards.
• Attend required workshops, staff and parent meetings and maintain confidentiality.
• Promote Head Start program and safety practices within the community.
