Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency in Williamstown, NJ seeks a Temp. Full Time Preschool Teacher to supervise a Head Start classroom and ensure compliance with state licensing and program standards.

You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, observe child progress, support children with special needs, and maintain accurate classroom records, while engaging families through regular conferences and home visits. This role requires reliable transportation and a 2-year degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in early childhood education or equivalent.
• Must meet NJ/PA licensing standards.
• Must have car available on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate assigned classroom, ensuring compliance with Head Start standards.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.
• Submit lesson plans weekly to the Site Director and Education Manager/Coordinator.
• Observe and document child growth and development; maintain records per child.
• Ensure inclusion of children with special needs in the center’s services.
• Maintain child safety procedures, report accidents and health concerns.
• Prepare and file monthly reports and classroom records as requested.
• Engage parents in classroom activities and education planning sessions monthly.
• Attend training sessions and support Center staff as needed.
• Carry out additional Head Start tasks as delegated by management.
