Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Teacher Assistant for our Head Start program to support early childhood development and create a positive learning environment for young children.

You will assist lead teachers with age-appropriate activities, support children's social and developmental needs, and help maintain a safe, welcoming classroom. Collaboration with staff and families will ensure each child's progress and needs are met.

Qualifications

• CDA or equivalent.
• Experience with young children in educational or childcare settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of child development principles and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs through engaging interactions.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Supervise children during activities, meals, and outdoor play.
• Collaborate with staff and families to support each child’s individual needs and progress.
• Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, and administrative tasks as needed.
