Job summary

Paylocity is hiring an Early Childhood Help Specialist to assist a Head Start classroom, helping the teacher deliver educational services to low-income and special needs children. You will support lesson planning, materials prep, and documentation while promoting a safe, engaging classroom environment.

You will work under supervision, coordinate with team members, participate in parent events, and help with developmental screenings as requested.

Qualifications

• CDA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education preferred or equivalent.
• Experience in an early childhood education setting required.
• Ability to obtain Oregon Food Handler’s Card.
• Valid driver’s license with insured vehicle or alternate transportation.
• Compliance with State of Oregon Criminal Background Registry.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with assessments and individualizations.
• Design and implement daily lesson plans within the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Keep records such as observation notes, lesson plans, and attendance.
• Follow all safety and bus protocol policies.
• Support PBIS approaches and positive guidance with children.
• Prepare materials for instructional use in consultation with the team.
• Contribute to parent Open House events and monthly meetings.
• Perform developmental screenings as requested.
