Job summary

Rutland County Head Start is seeking dedicated Lead Teachers to join our on-site program in Rutland, Vermont. The position offers $22.52-$26.87 per hour with full-time status and two hours of paid prep time daily, plus generous benefits.

Lead Teachers are responsible for leading a classroom, creating a caring atmosphere for children and families, focusing on school readiness, and collaborating with staff to meet each child’s needs. Requires BA/ECE background and driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field required
• Teaching License with Early Childhood Education Endorsement preferred
• At least two years of experience in a preschool classroom
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proper auto insurance
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire

Rutland County Head Start is seeking dedicated early childhood education Lead Teachers to join our comprehensive, integrated, and family-centered early childhood program. Rutland County Head Start embraces a unified approach that fosters teamwork and engages in partnership with the children and families we serve.

This position is on site and requires a person to be able to reliably commute to Rutland, Vermont. The closing date to apply is August 21st at noon.

What Is Required

• BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field (early childhood education coursework) required
• Teaching License with Early Childhood Education Endorsement preferred
• At least two years of experience working within a preschool classroom
• Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
• *Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.
