Job summary

Rutland County Head Start is seeking dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our Head Start program. Pay is $21–$26.25 per hour plus paid training and a flexible schedule.

The role supports early childhood education in a federally funded program that promotes school readiness and family engagement. A BA in ECE or related field is preferred, along with licensure and preschool experience.

Qualifications

• BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred.
• Teaching License with Early Childhood Education Endorsement preferred.
• At least two years of experience working within a preschool classroom preferred.
• Must have a valid driver?s license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage as required by Vermont.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute teaching in preschool classrooms.
• Assist with implementing Head Start curriculum and activities.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support classroom routines and student needs.

Rutland County Head Start is seeking dedicated early childhood education Substitute Teachers to join our comprehensive, integrated, and family-centered early childhood program. Rutland County Head Start embraces a unified approach that fosters teamwork and engages in partnership with the children and families we serve.

Head Start is a federally-funded, national child and family development program which provides comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services for children promote school readiness, and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and services for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement, and include parent leadership and social service supports.

What Is Required

• BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field (early childhood education coursework) preferred
• Teaching License with Early Childhood Education Endorsement preferred
• At least two years of experience working within a preschool classroom preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
