Job summary

Regional Economic Community Action Program, Inc. (RECAP) is seeking a Food and Nutrition Services Aide to assist in daily operations, including food preparation, meal production, sanitation, and meal service.

The role collaborates with the Cook and Nutrition Services Manager to ensure meals are prepared and delivered safely in accordance with program requirements. The position requires dependable attendance, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, hygiene, and food safety practices preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established food service procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, meal production, portioning, and serving in collaboration with the Cook.
• Follow established menus, recipes, portion requirements, and food preparation procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks in accordance with dietary requirements.
• Follow procedures for food allergies, special diets, and dietary accommodations.
• Assist with meal delivery to designated locations.
• Provide backup Cook coverage to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Set up and break down meal service areas and maintain clean, safe workspaces.
• Monitor food service areas and communicate supplies needs to Cook or supervisor.
