Job summary

Regional Economic Community Action Program, Inc. (RECAP) seeks a Food and Nutrition Services Aide to support Head Start kitchen operations, assist with meal production, sanitation, and delivery of meals to designated locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, hygiene, and food safety practices preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established food service procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, safety, and detail.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, meal production, portioning, and serving in collaboration with the Cook.
• Follow established menus, recipes, portion requirements, and food preparation procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks in accordance with applicable dietary and nutritional requirements.
• Follow established procedures for food allergies, special diets, and dietary accommodations.
• Assist with meal delivery to designated locations.
• Provide backup Cook coverage during absences or as assigned to ensure uninterrupted food service operations.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down meal service areas.
• Ensure food is properly handled, covered, stored, and transported.
• Monitor food service areas and promptly communicate concerns or supply needs to the Cook or supervisor.
