Job summary

Clackamas County Children's Commission in Lake Oswego, OR seeks a Full-time Early Childhood Assistant to support Head Start services. You will assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning, assessments, and creating a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for low-income and special needs children and their families.

You will help with screenings, parent involvement events, and maintaining records, while following PBIS and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• CDA required; associates or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom, certified child care center, or comparable group care program.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with assessments and individualizations.
• Design and implementation of the daily lesson plan within the classroom.
• Setting up and maintaining a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Maintaining records related to the classroom (child observations, lesson plans, attendance).
• Follow Procedures for Bus Safely Protocol.
• Ensure a safe environment for children and provide continuous supervision.
• Use PBIS in directing and guiding children.
• Greet children and escort them to the classroom.
• Prepare and gather materials for instructional purposes.
• Participate in parent Open House during startup.
• Attend and provide childcare at monthly parent meetings.
• Perform developmental screenings as requested.
