Job summary

The Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City & OK/CN Counties, Inc. seeks a Director of Early Childhood Programs to lead all early childhood education services, child nutrition, classroom-based programs, and development initiatives, ensuring Head Start standards and licensing compliance.

This role reports to Chief Programs Officer and will drive program quality, data-guided improvements, staffing, budget oversight, and strong partnerships with families and community organizations to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related degree; 5 years in preschool/early childhood education.
• 3+ years administrative or management experience in early childhood, education, or social services.
• Ability to manage multiple program sites and diverse functional areas.
• Ability to analyze data to move children toward school readiness benchmarks.
• Strong public relations, communication, and partnership-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, and leadership.
• Strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, directives, and grant-related documentation.
• Proficiency with technology, including program management systems and communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Center Directors and Education/Child Development Coordinators to ensure high-quality program implementation.
• Coordinate with the Chief Programs Officer to align early childhood programs with agency strategy.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start standards, licensing, and CACFP requirements.
• Oversee budgets, reporting, and monitoring documentation; delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Lead staffing structures, professional development, and team performance.
• Collaborate with Family Empowerment Programs and community partners to integrate services.
