Job summary

South-Middlesex-Opportunity-Council (SMOC) in Whitinsville, MA, is seeking a Head Start Teacher to provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate instruction in a full-time role. The position supports readiness across social/emotional, cognitive, physical, and language domains and collaborates with families and the community.

The ideal candidate will hold an EEC PS Teacher certificate, have strong communication skills, and be comfortable working with diverse families.

Qualifications

• EEC PS Teacher certificate is required.
• CPR & First Aid certification must be completed within licensing timeframes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, families and co-workers.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run and facilitate classroom; create a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Observe and record children's behavior to assess skills and plan activities.
• Maintain safety, health, and cleanliness of the classroom.
• Engage families; communicate regularly with families and staff.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and parent functions.
• Provide accurate reports and documentation for the classroom.
