Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Head Start Co-Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 0–5. The role collaborates with a Family Advocate to deliver comprehensive services, including health, nutrition, and parent involvement.

It requires a strong understanding of early childhood education and the ability to work on-site in various Los Angeles area sites. The candidate will implement the curriculum, plan activities, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• AA in ECE/CD with 24 units.
• Ability to pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid CA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide children with developmentally appropriate activities.
• Plan and implement the program curriculum for morning and afternoon classes.
• Collaborate with Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to support families.
• Integrate Head Start services into learning including parent involvement and health services.
• Maintain child records and complete monthly paperwork accurately.
• Observe and assess children’s development and set goals.
• Create a learning environment reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Ensure health and safety in the classroom.
