Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Willmar, MN is seeking a Head Start Classroom Support to assist the Head Start Teacher, spark curiosity, build independence, and actively support families.

In the temporary, 32-hour-per-week role, you’ll help in the kitchen, maintain records, promote the program, monitor safety on the Head Start bus, and work with a team to create a thriving learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma/GED or relevant experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Team up in the kitchen: help with food prep and cleanup.
• Stay organized: maintain accurate records.
• Add a healthy twist: promote health and nutrition activities for kids.
• Pitch in: assist with light janitorial duties as needed.
• Promote the program: support recruitment and enrollment efforts.
• Prioritize safety: monitor children on the Head Start bus and ensure safe transportation.

JOB STATUS: TEMPORARY Full-time (32 hours p/week), 3 months

LOCATION: Willmar, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment foryoung children!

As a Head Start Classroom Support, you’ll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners—all while supporting parents to become their child’s greatest advocate.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Team Up in the Kitchen: Help with food prep and cleanup - keeping things organized and tidy.
• Stay Organized: Keep everything running smoothly with accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping.
• Add a Healthy Twist: Bring energy and creativity to health and nutrition activities that inspire kids to make healthier choices.
• Pitch In: Help out with light janitorial duties when necessary - teamwork makes the dream work.
• Promote the Program: Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
• Prioritize Safety: Monitor children on the Head Start bus and help maintain a safe environment during transportation to and from the center.
