Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Spicer, MN is seeking a Head Start Classroom Support to team with the Head Start Teacher, spark curiosity, and help children develop independence.

You'll assist with classroom activities, food prep, health and nutrition activities, and safety, while participating in recruitment, enrollment, and light janitorial tasks as needed. Applicants should be 18+, have a HS diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid and Food Safety certification or be willing to obtain them;

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to certify.
  • Food Safety certification or willingness to certify within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Head Start Teacher in classroom and with activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping.
  • Contribute to health and nutrition activities to promote healthy choices.
  • Back up the Head Start Teacher as needed.
  • Assist with light janitorial duties when necessary.
  • Support recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.

JOB STATUS:

Full-time (30 hours p/week), 4 months

LOCATION:

Spicer, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment foryoung children!

As a Head Start Classroom Support, you’ll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners—all while supporting parents to become their child’s greatest advocate.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Team Up in the Kitchen: Help with food prep and cleanup - keeping things organized andtidy.
  • Stay Organized: Keep everything running smoothly with accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping.
  • Add a Healthy Twist: Bring energy and creativity to health and nutrition activities that inspire kids to make healthier choices.
  • Be the MVP: Step in for the Head Start Teacher when needed - you're the ultimate backup!
  • Pitch In: Help out with light janitorial duties when necessary - teamwork makes the dream work.
  • Promote the Program: Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
  • Prioritize Safety: Ensure a safe environment for everyone, every step of the way.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma/GED and/or relevant experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified - or ready to getcertified.
  • Food Safety Certification - or the willingness toget certified within 3 months.
