Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Spicer, MN is seeking a Head Start Classroom Support to work alongside the Head Start Teacher, spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire young learners while helping families advocate for their children.

You’ll help in the kitchen, keep accurate records, promote healthy habits, back up the teacher, assist with light janitorial duties, and support recruitment and enrollment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma/GED and/or relevant experience.
• CPR and First Aid Certified - or ready to get certified.
• Food Safety Certification - or the willingness to get certified within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the kitchen with food prep and cleanup.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
• Promote healthy nutrition activities for kids.
• Back up Head Start Teacher as needed.
• Assist with light janitorial duties and general cleanup.
• Support recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.

As a Head Start Classroom Support, you’ll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners—all while supporting parents to become their child’s greatest advocate.

• Stay Organized: Keep everything running smoothly with accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping.
• Add a Healthy Twist: Bring energy and creativity to health and nutrition activities that inspire kids to make healthier choices.
• Be the MVP: Step in for the Head Start Teacher when needed - you're the ultimate backup!
• Pitch In: Help out with light janitorial duties when necessary - teamwork makes the dream work.
• Promote the Program: Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
• Prioritize Safety: Ensure a safe environment for everyone, every step of the way.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
