Job summary

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois seeks a Head Start Staff Support Teacher to assist in delivering planned educational activities. This role substitutes for absent staff and ensures alignment with Head Start and licensing standards.

Responsibilities include implementing approved curricula, traveling to sites, and supporting families via School Readiness and engagement processes. Requires a relevant degree, background checks, and a valid IL driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree required per Head Start Act.
• Background checks and fingerprinting per 89 IL. Adm. Code 385.
• Must be 21+ years old and CPR/First Aid certified.
• Illinois driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Experience with MS Office/SharePoint or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement planning by the teacher with developmentally appropriate activities.
• Substitute in classrooms when staff are absent.
• Conduct experiences aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards.
• Travel to assigned locations within the service area.
• Recruit children and support family engagement activities.
• Attend trainings and maintain confidentiality of participants.
