Job summary

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to oversee daily classroom activity and implement developmentally appropriate education aligned with the Head Start Outcomes Framework and DCFS standards.

The role requires a CDA and training in early childhood development, plus CPR/First Aid certification. You will work with a co-teacher to deliver lessons, perform health screenings, and engage families through conferences and home visits.

Qualifications

• Must have at minimum Child Development Associate Credential and have been trained in early childhood development per Head Start Act.
• DCFS qualification for Child Care Director desired upon hire; enroll in an associate degree program to achieve qualification if not met at time of hire.
• Must complete fingerprint/background check as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan developmentally appropriate education experiences per Illinois Early Learning Standards and Head Start frameworks.
• Interact with children using Conscious Discipline techniques.
• Implement Creative Curriculum with instruction, assessment, and screenings.
• Collaborate with co-teacher to develop lesson plans.
• Conduct health screenings, assessments, and progress reports as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
