Job summary

The Early Head Start Teacher position at Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of classroom staff, development and implementation of curriculum, instruction, screenings, and assessments to meet Head Start outcomes and DCFS licensing standards.

The role requires a Child Development Associate Credential and ongoing education in early childhood development, with experience in Conscious Discipline, Creative Curriculum, and Babydoll Circle

Qualifications

• Must have at minimum Child Development Associate Credential and have been trained in early childhood development per Head Start Act.
• DCFS qualification for Child Care Director is desired upon hire.
• Must enroll in an associate degree program to achieve DCFS qualification for Child Care Director if not met at time of hire.
• Fingerprint and background check required by 89 ILL. Adm. Code 385.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience with Microsoft Applications including SharePoint or similar collaboration software.

Responsibilities

• Plan developmentally appropriate education experiences aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards and Head Start Outcomes Framework.
• Interact with children using Conscious Discipline techniques.
• Implement Creative Curriculum with fidelity, including instruction, assessment, and screenings.
• Utilize Babydoll Circle Time curriculum as designed.
• Work with co-teacher to develop all lesson plans.
• Conduct required educational and health screenings and progress reports.
• Complete health observations and document appropriately.
• Attend parent conferences and home visits as scheduled.
