Job summary

The h.wood Group is seeking a Lead Sommelier for its upcoming Lady Delilah project. This role acts as the primary ambassador for the beverage program, overseeing wine inventory, ordering, receiving, stocking, and entering data into the POS system.

The candidate should bring a passion for hospitality and a guest-first mindset. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails, with strong service standards and exceptional communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume elevated dining restaurant.
• Food Handler's Certification required.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Detail oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of wine list, and wine and food pairings.
• Clean equipment and ensure wine service tools are in good working order.
• Maintain and update cellar/storage inventory according to pars and controls.
• Meet with wine trade to source quality wines for the program.
• Train staff on wine knowledge, pour levels, and storage to reduce waste.
• Verify accuracy of wine deliveries and handle exchanges as needed.
• Manage beverage costs and handle purchases and requisitions.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
