Job summary

Chapman University is seeking a Director of Web Strategy & Development to shape and execute the university's web ecosystem. This on-campus leadership role drives a strategic digital transformation, aligning the web presence with enrollment, brand, and institutional priorities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in web design, development, UX/UI and web strategy.
• 4+ years of web programming with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, WordPress, REST & APIs.
• Strong CMS knowledge (WordPress, Drupal, Modern Campus) and UX/UI best practices.
• Experience with marketing tech (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, GTM, dashboard, SEMrush).
• Experience with accessibility tools such as SiteImprove and web security best practices.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and project management.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute web strategy aligned with marketing and enrollment goals.
• Oversee design, development, optimization, and SEO for Chapman web ecosystem.
• Lead team, manage vendors, and collaborate with IT and campus partners.
• Establish KPIs, perform audits, and run A/B tests for improvements.
• Ensure accessibility, security, and compliance across platforms.
