Job summary

Chapman University in Orange, CA is seeking a Web Developer to lead development and maintenance of Chapman’s online marketing presence. You will code, optimize, and support internal and external sites, integrating marketing automation tools and analytics in a collaborative, Agile environment.

You will work with the marketing and web teams to ensure accessibility, performance, and alignment with university branding across devices and platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or business information systems or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of web, programming, or related field experience.
• Proficient in Agile methodology and collaborative teamwork.
• Proficient in Ruby, PHP, and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with WordPress testing and accessibility standards.
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Slate marketing tools.
• DevOps experience provisioning Linux servers and automated deployments.
• Experience with Google Analytics, GTM, Data Studio, and ad platforms.
• Strong documentation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMC web team to develop and maintain websites and marketing tools.
• Write clean, robust code ensuring uptime and performance.
• Develop templates for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other systems to meet goals.
• Maintain web properties, resolve bugs, and monitor updates.
• Ensure Chapman’s web presence meets industry standards on all devices.
• Document software builds and reduce technical debt.
• Lead project scope and scrum-driven priorities when needed.
• Stay current with web trends and best practices.
