Job summary

Fairmont Austin, a luxury property in the heart of downtown Austin, seeks a Director of Venues – IRD, Good Things & Refreshment Center to lead In Room Dining, Refreshment Center and other venue concepts. You will drive dining experiences, shape service standards and collaborate with senior F&B leaders to stay ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications

• Previous Food & Beverage experience in a senior leadership role
• At least 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hotel food & beverage operations
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
• Ability to Lead and manage the day to day operation with oversight across In Room Dining, Refreshment Center and Good Things ensuring all service standards are followed.
• Drive innovative promotions, menus and concepts; creating a destination of choice for both hotel and external guests.
• Work closely with the senior F&B leaders and venue teams to curate dining experiences and maintain relevancy within the marketplace and stay on top of industry trends.
• Meet and continue building relationships with vendors to assist with procurement and assist with beverage inventories.
• Complete training sessions with all bartenders and service team on service standards and techniques.
• Ensure all bars are well maintained and act as lead for bars in yearly health inspections and EHC audits.
• Support the Venue Managers and Assistant Venue Managers with the day to day operations and in the achievement of their financial and operational targets.
• Implement effective control of food, beverage, labor and operating expenses
• Assist in the preparation of the annual strategic plan and achieve the goals and targets therein
• Ensure the implementation of standards in guest service, constantly seek out ways to improve product and service as well as increase volumes and profits
• Oversee the selection, training and development of all Colleagues to ensure timely recruitment and career growth
• Utilize venue management software (AVERO), inventory systems, and POS technology to streamline operations and reporting.
• Implement and promote sustainable practices, including waste reduction where possible.
• Ensure all venue concepts and branding align with the overall company brand and aesthetic.
• Oversee the execution of seasonal or thematic events that align with marketing and brand identity.
• Conduct regular spot checks and periodically revise par stock levels to ensure compliance with company processes and inventory management standards
• Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
• Actively resolve gust complaints promptly according to hotel standards
• Actively participate in hotel committees and team meetings
• Work closely with Marketing team to ensure the venues have constant visibility
