Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. seeks an accomplished Utility-Scale Heavy Civil Division Manager to lead and grow our Heavy Civil Division across the United States.

This executive role drives safe, productive, high-quality projects including mass earthwork, site development, drainage, and erosion control. You will mentor leaders, coordinate with Project Managers and executives, and champion continuous improvement while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Heavy Civil construction experience
• Experience leading multiple crews and large-scale Heavy Civil operations
• Knowledge of mass grading, earthwork, drainage systems, stormwater infrastructure, erosion and sediment control
• Financial acumen with budgets and project performance
• Ability to travel up to 25% monthly and manage field operations
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Heavy Civil operations across multiple projects
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of Superintendents, Foremen, and field leaders
• Lead earthwork, site development, drainage, erosion control, and related civil construction operations
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and resources for project execution
• Partner with Project Managers, Estimating, and leadership to ensure delivery
• Drive planning, communication, accountability, and execution to ensure consistency
• Monitor productivity, quality, equipment utilization, and operational performance
• Support scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
• Develop future leaders through coaching and mentorship
• Build strong relationships with customers, GC’s, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety, and performance
• Champion continuous improvement and reinforce company processes and core values
• Promote safety as a top priority
• Lead by example in line with R-2 Core Values
