Job summary

Outpost Bio in Boston is seeking Head of Business Development, Therapeutics to turn microbiome capabilities into paid, decision-relevant work with biotech and pharma partners. You will own the commercial process from first conversation through contract, delivery, and expansion, sourcing and closing deals hands-on while collaborating with scientists to ensure credible, scalable offerings.

This is a fast-moving, hands-on leadership role for building a tiny team into a scalable function with equity

Qualifications

• Significant BD/commercial experience in biotech/pharma with proven deal origination and closure.
• Understanding of drug development decisions and budgets.
• Scientifically credible with ability to discuss assets with technical teams.
• Ability to turn capabilities into priced offers and sell pre-collateral.
• Experience building a life-sciences commercial function.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and offer; price study for drug programs leveraging microbiome evidence.
• Originate and close asset-level programs; manage proposals, pricing, negotiation, procurement, contracting.
• Translate science into buyer value; define asset, questions, evidence; involve scientists as needed.
• Deliver and scale value; launch studies, secure acceptance, capture results for expansions and case studies.
• Build commercial operating system; establish qualification, pipeline management, forecasting, data rights, growth.
