Flagship Pioneering is seeking a VP, Business Development to own and execute the BD strategy for a subset of portfolio companies within our ecosystem. You will drive deal flow, collaborate across functions, and partner with senior leaders to shape value propositions for pharma partnerships.

You will work with CEOs and senior teams to frame strategies, identify value drivers, and create compelling deal concepts and term sheets that advance early-stage biotech and therapeutic modalities.

Qualificações

• 12+ years’ industry experience with a demonstrated track record of business development and corporate strategy leadership.
• Strong track record of strategy design and execution efforts with examples of impact on sell-side business development deals with pharmaceutical/biotech companies.
• Advanced degree (PhD, MD) strongly preferred; MBA is a plus.
• Previous Senior or Executive Leadership experience with enterprise leadership mindset across disciplines.
• Ability to understand complex scientific ideas and effectively communicate their value proposition to key stakeholders.
• Prior experience developing or partnering biotechnology platforms or therapeutic modalities (discovery and preclinical- stage, Series A/B).
• Excellent presentation and communications skills—the ability to articulate, influence, and work with varied audiences.

Responsabilidades

• As an embedded company team member, drive development of the business development strategy for a portion of the Flagship Pioneering portfolio companies to enable consistent deal flow across the ecosystem.
• Work as a cross-functional leader of the company, collaborating across multiple areas to establish the BD strategy and drive deal execution (concept or term sheet to final agreement).
• Collaborate with the CEO, partner groups, and senior management on BD strategy contributing to corporate strategy and value drivers of impactful deals.
• Develop key messages and deal packages to communicate platform value to stakeholders and partners.
• Frame the BD action plan including data generation for validation, partnership scopes, and exclusivity constructs.
• Define relevant biotech and pharma stakeholders.
• Lead BD initiatives including outreach, diligence, and structuring transactions leveraging cross-functional teams.
• Cultivate a strong partnership with CEO and partners to secure buy-in across the company and Board.
• Work with R&D to evaluate early-stage compounds and integrate BD perspectives in research.
