Job summary

Confidential Company seeks a Director of Technical Design to lead product integrity, quality, and scalable apparel development across the design, development, sourcing, and production spectrum in New York. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensuring design intent aligns with cost, durability, and manufacturability for children’s apparel.

The role requires a strategic thinker who can resolve systemic technical challenges, drive innovation, and elevate Technical Design to a core enterprise

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Technical Design experience in apparel with focus on children’s or mass/value retail.
• Proven ability to lead Technical Design teams and influence senior partners.
• Deep expertise in garment construction, fit, patternmaking, grading, and production troubleshooting.
• Operates strategically while solving complex technical problems hands-on.
• Strong understanding of global production workflows and factory collaboration.
• Experience leading or supporting system implementations (PLM, BeProduct, or similar).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority.
