Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is seeking a Manager of Startups Applied AI Architects to lead a team of technical architects, win founders’ trust, and shape how great partnerships look in the startup segment.

You will own pre-sales engagements from discovery to deployment, build technical playbooks, partner with Account Executives to drive Claude API adoption, and coach a high‑performing startup‑speed team.

Qualifications

8+ years in technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, FDA etc.)
5+ years leading pre-sales or technical go-to-market teams
Experience with startups, high-growth tech, or founder-led sales environments

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and grow a team of Startups Applied AI Architects, setting a high bar for credibility and impact
Own pre-sales engagements with top startup accounts from discovery to deployment
Build and own technical playbooks for evaluations, customer-specific evals, and architecture of LLM solutions
Partner with Account Executives and GTM leadership to drive Claude API adoption across the startup ecosystem
Ensure the team surfaces startup insights and feeds back to Product and Engineering
Drive cross-functional influence to advance startup customer needs and roadmap priorities
Build Anthropic's technical presence in the startup ecosystem through events, conferences, and content
Stay ahead of AI engineering trends and ensure the team operates at the frontier
