Job summary

Blue Origin in Reston, Virginia, is seeking a senior leader for the In-Space Systems Structures & Mechanisms team to guide the Blue Ring spacecraft's structural analyses and loads & dynamics efforts. You will recruit, mentor, and manage engineers across design, analysis, and verification to deliver safe, reliable hardware under tight schedules.

You will develop primary and secondary structure concepts, lead FEM development and validation, coordinate with program leadership, and drive product

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering.
• 5+ years leading technical teams or functional groups.
• 8+ years in structural analysis and/or Loads & Dynamics.
• Broad knowledge of space vehicle systems and their impact on design.
• Ability to build trust and foster an inclusive culture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizen or national or eligible immigration status.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and mentor a diverse team of engineers for Blue Ring structures, vehicle mechanical analysis, and Loads & Dynamics.
• Manage direct reports' development, performance reviews, and promotions.
• Direct and guide designs for primary/secondary structures to meet requirements, schedule, and budget.
• Oversee generation and communication of structural loads to support vehicle and payload development.
• Lead development and anchoring of system and component loads, including modeling, simulation, and verification.
• Guide FEM development, validation, and correlation to test data.
• Own program rhythm, reviews, forecasts, and deep dives with leadership.
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps with internal/external customers.
