Job summary

May Mobility in Ann Arbor, MI, seeks a Manager of Simulation Infrastructure to lead a team of full-stack and infra engineers responsible for deployment, scaling, and reliability of web applications, databases, and cloud infrastructure for batch simulations.

You will shape the roadmap, guide API design, and oversee frontend-to-backend systems powering scenario management, run orchestration, and analytics, while building a high-performing team and ensuring cost-efficient operations.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of software engineering including backend services and cloud infra with 2+ years of people management.
• Experience guiding teams operating production workloads on container orchestration platforms at scale, with PostgreSQL databases.
• Solid background building secure, high-throughput APIs and web services (Go, Python, Node.js) with modern frontend like React.
• Proven experience recruiting, building, and mentoring full-stack or infra teams.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of full-stack and infra engineers, focusing on career growth and performance.
• Own the roadmap and execution for web apps and tools supporting simulation workflows.
• Guide architectural decisions for scalable cloud infra and container orchestration for massive parallel batch runs.
• Oversee relational databases and secure, high-throughput APIs linking portals to simulation systems.
• Drive reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency across the platform.
• Partner with Simulation Engine and stakeholders to align tech capabilities with business needs.
