Job summary

Thompson Solutions Group in Sioux City, IA is seeking an experienced Director of Service to drive growth, profitability, and operational performance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and small-project operations.

You will lead service managers, field leaders, technicians and support teams, develop high-performing crews, strengthen customer relationships, and position the Service Division for continued success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of leadership in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, or skilled-trades service operations.
• 5+ years leading field technicians, service managers, project managers, or trade professionals.
• Proven success managing a service business with growth, profitability, and workforce development.
• Strong financial, operational, and strategic business acumen.
• Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
• Strong customer relationship and business development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance and growth of the Service Division.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Manage department financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and key performance metrics.
• Oversee daily service operations, including staffing, scheduling, dispatching, and project execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and strategic accounts.
• Support business development efforts and expand recurring revenue opportunities.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor service managers and field leaders.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage technology and performance data to enhance service delivery and the customer experience.
