Job summary

The UCLA Health Rape Treatment Center invites applications for a Director of Prevention and Community Education to lead prevention programs, staff supervision, and community partnerships in the Los Angeles area.

Reporting to the RTC Senior Director, the role focuses on expanding outreach, developing curricula, and ensuring compliance with professional and funding requirements. Evening/weekend work may be required for trainings and events.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
• 3 years of supervisory experience, including responsibility for both clinical and administrative supervision.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in prevention, community education, behavioral health, sexual violence/child abuse, or a closely related field.
• Current California license as a mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist), with eligibility to provide clinical supervision as applicable.
• Ability to clear a Live Scan Fingerprint screening, Criminal Record, Sex Offender Registry, and Child Abuse Index Clearance; per funding agency requirements, and alliances, all staff must complete background checks at least every five years that includes, sex offender registry check, State or FBI criminal history check, including fingerprint check, child abuse and neglect state registry check if available in the state of California.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective clinical and administrative supervision, develop staff, establish clear expectations, address performance concerns, maintain accountability, and foster professional growth.
• Knowledge of sexual violence and child sexual abuse prevention, trauma-informed practice, and the needs and experiences of survivors of sexual assault and abuse, including an understanding of the broader social, institutional, and cultural factors that influence prevention response.
• Knowledge of prevention science, community education, curriculum development, and adult and youth learning, with the ability to translate evidence and best practices into engaging developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive programming for diverse audiences.
• Exceptional interpersonal judgement and diplomacy.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and creative leadership for a developing program, including identifying opportunities for expansion, designing new initiatives, building sustainable systems and partnerships, and moving ideas from concept through implementation.

• Ensures that prevention services meet professional, institutional, legal, and funding requirements
• Working evenings and weekends on occasion for workshops, trainings, meetings, and community events
