Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Supervisor for Pre-Authorization & Referrals to lead daily operations and ensure timely and compliant insurance authorizations and referrals. You will coach staff, manage workflows, and collaborate with clinical and revenue teams to promote service excellence.

The role requires 3+ years related experience, an associate degree (bachelors preferred), and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 3 years of related experience.
• Associates degree in Business/Finance/Healthcare or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Supervises pre-authorization and referral staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and staff meetings.
• Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, patient-centered service, and continuous improvement.
• Develops staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage and balanced workloads.
• Oversees timely processing of insurance authorizations, prior authorizations, and specialty referrals.
• Monitors queues and performance metrics to optimize turnaround times and efficiency.
• Identifies gaps and implements improvements to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
• Collaborates with clinical departments, providers, and payer representatives to resolve issues.
• Monitors denials and appeals and supports revenue cycle initiatives.
