Job summary

Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Supervisor for Pre-Authorization & Referrals to lead the team, ensure timely insurance authorizations, and maintain payer compliance. You will guide staff development and optimize workflows to support patient access and revenue integrity.

Qualifications

• Required: Associates - Business/Finance/Healthcare OR Associates - Related Field
• Preferred: Bachelors - Business/Finance/Healthcare OR Bachelors - Related Field
• Minimum of 3 years related experience
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English

• Monitors workflows, queues, and performance metrics to optimize turnaround times.
• Identifies process gaps and implements improvements to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
• Collaborates with clinical departments, scheduling, revenue cycle, and payer representatives to resolve issues.
• Monitors denials, appeals, delays, and related trends; develops action plans to improve reimbursement.

This role ensures timely and accurate insurance authorization, referral processing, and compliance with payer requirements to support patient access, continuity of care, and revenue cycle integrity.
