Job summary

Turnkey is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Platform Engineering organization. You will own the technical direction, manage managers and senior engineers, and partner with Product and leadership to ensure platform investments meet customer and business needs.

You will guide architecture across cloud infrastructure, security controls, and developer tooling, while driving scale, reliability, and performance in a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing engineering managers and leading a multi-team engineering org.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and security architecture.
• Track record of operating and scaling infrastructure with high availability, performance, and security.
• Excellence at upholding software quality and engineering processes while moving fast.
• Healthy paranoia and proactive risk management.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering strategy and technical vision for the Platform Engineering org.
• Build and grow a high-performing engineering team with managers and senior ICs.
• Partner with Product and leadership to align platform investments with business needs.
• Guide integration of emerging technologies into our platform.
• Define org structure, career paths, and engineering rituals for resilience.
