OneMain Financial in Charlotte leads a senior technology role to own the technical strategy and modernization of the Credit Card Payments domain. This leader will architect an orchestration layer and drive resiliency across vendor infrastructure while building a modern payment platform.

You will influence Product, Business, Operations, Risk and enterprise technology teams. Expected to bring deep engineering leadership, payments domain expertise, and strong cross-functional collaboration to

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering and technology leadership experience in distributed platforms.
• Strong payments, financial services, or transaction processing background.
• Deep understanding of idempotency, event-driven architecture, retries and observability.

Responsibilities

• Define short- and long-term Payments technology strategy and target architecture.
• Lead resiliency improvements while vendors provide core processing.
• Establish a payment orchestration layer decoupling customer experiences from vendor implementations.
• Own technology decisions across the payment lifecycle: intent, processing, reconciliation and posting.
• Identify failure modes and design for retries, observability and operational resilience.
• Establish canonical payment APIs, events, and domain boundaries.
• Lead technical discovery and translate findings into a modernization roadmap.
• Partner with Product and Business to identify capabilities improving customer experience.
